My Current Skincare Saviours

Have you ever been in a complete rut with your appearance? Day after day it’s the same old same old, and not only that, your skin is just looking duller and duller as those days go by? I definitely have! Since I’ve been back in England from my holiday, I’ve found that our constant change of weather and temperature outside has completely done a number on my skin. I naturally have quite dry to dehydrated skin, this means that sometimes I could have dry texture in certain areas or my skin will just look like it’s craving a moisturiser – usually right after I’ve applied it.

I had been on the hunt for a while for some products that I could add into my current routine that would (hopefully) help out my skin. Since then, four new (now well loved) products have welcomed back the hydration to my face.

I have to say, these aren’t the most inexpensive items I could’ve picked, but from experience my skin has always had a positive reaction to more premium brands over those which are more affordable.

First up, Clinqiue Moisture Surge Face Spray. I was a bit skeptical when buying this as I’ve had a few face sprays which claim to hydrate the skin, but never do. Designed for “thirsty skin”  I was desperate for something to help my face feel better.

It didn’t take me long to love this product, sure there are toners and tonics which will say they’ll give you that hydrated feeling but I honestly don’t think anything will beat this one. I use it morning and night after cleansing, before my serum making my face look and feel less dry.

You can also use this spray over makeup, but I’m more for using this as a boost on clean skin rather than trying to do too much throughout the day.

Funnily enough, Clinique’s Turnaround Revitalising Serum follows the face spray. As I said before, my skin was looking more dull than usual, it lost it’s brightness and natural radiance which really effected my makeup!

I was turning to highlighter to lift my skin, but brighter skin comes from the skincare and that’s where this newbie came in. I apply this morning and night on clean skin but after my Face Spray and before my moisturiser. It’s formula is incredibly lightweight so this doesn’t effect the feeling on my skin nor the look of it with makeup on.

If your skin looks boring, lifeless and has any slight texture then I would highly recommend investing in this serum to help you out.

Elemis Superfood Night Cream, also known as my favourite night cream ever. Elemis skincare has always had a place in my heart and if I had the money I would probably buy as much as I could, as often as I could. I’m a regular user of the Hydra-Boost range but I opted for their newest which is the Superfood collection (both a part of their Advanced Skincare range).

This night cream is essentially designed to “feed” your skin overnight to aid your skin to wake up with a healthy-looking complexion, and boy does it hydrate! One of my favourite things about this cream is the smell, I absolutely hate applying a product that doesn’t smell very nice (I’m sure I’m not alone on that one), it has a really natural herb-like scent.

I could probably get away with just using one pump a night of this but I apply an extra 1/2 a pump because I like my skin feeling very rich in hydration.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the Superfood range and watch my skin change for the better!

The most expensive product in this post is by none other than Creme De La Mer, the Brilliance Brightening Lotion. This claimed to soothe, soften and hydrate the skin – the 3 things I needed desperately.

After using this one I can definitely say my skin felt softer, more plump and actually reduced any redness/discolouration on my complexion! I love the way it leaves my face feeling.

Again, it’s a product that doesn’t feel like anything at all, so I don’t feel like I’ve applied a million products on my face by the time I get to my makeup! You only need to moisten a cotton pad and then gently apply all over your skin.

I’m constantly on the hunt for new skincare items to try as I’m a strong believer that if you have the right skincare, everything else will just fall into place and look better!

Until next time
