Happy Mother’s Day

Mum, today is your day. Sure, you get your birthdays, but Mother’s Day is a whole day dedicated to thank you for being my amazing and beautiful mum.

If you’re new here or you don’t know me all that well, my mum is called Karen. To describe her in 3 words would be selfless, reliable and honest. If you know me quite well, you’ll know what a complete gem she is.

Our relationship is probably like most mother and daughters out there, we argue, we laugh, we love, we make memories and we continue to be each other’s best friends.

My mum is and always has been my first friend, she’s the one I always go to for advice and of course mum’s always give the best. We’re so very alike, both in good and some bad ways, but we share the biggest love and passion for our dogs.

Mum’s always had dogs and then always been into agility with those dogs (I’ll happily blame you for my absolute obsession with them, mum).

Growing up I would join her at her agility shows and watch her in her element just enjoying her hobby. Soon I would too compete and be in the same happy place every Saturday and Sunday.

She’s so very patient, yet determined when it comes to her agility. Even when times have been a bit tricky and things weren’t going to plan (Fiona, if you’re reading this, the 3 E club springs to mind!) but mum never gave up nor let her passion fade.

I admire how much she loves to progress as well, she’s quite the positive personality when it comes to competing, it’s a quality I really love about her.

Mum, I want to thank you for all the things you’ve done and all you continue to do for me. Even the little things, though I may not show my appreciation at all times, just know I’m always grateful.

I honestly believe I wouldn’t be the person I am today without you. Everything I am, you helped me to be. You’re half of the greatest parent team around and anyone would be lucky to have you.

Happy Mother’s Day to the best mum I could ever wish for.
