FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY SHOULD I BOOK WITH YOU?

I have many years of experience painting the faces of lots of different people, of all ages, skin tones and skin types. I’m professional, kind, reliable and will always aim to create a makeup look you’ll love!

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes! I am a member of, and fully insured by the Beauty Guild.

WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

I am based at my Studio for all makeup appointments, including trials. The address of my studio is sent out to you after I have received your deposit for your booking.

DO YOU TRAVEL OUT FOR MAKEUP APPOINTMENTS?

I only travel out to Wedding venues. All other appointments (including trials) are held at my home studio.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR MAKEUP APPOINTMENTS?

Please click here to view my prices for different appointments. Please note, Bridal prices are not included on this page, if you would like a quote for your Wedding Makeup please email me!

DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA FOR EARLY MORNING APPOINTMENTS?

Yes. You can see my early morning fees on the services page, these fees are based on the particular time slots and not the type of appointment you are booking.

HOW LONG DOES THE MAKEUP TAKE?

This can differ depending on the desired look. The majority of sessions take approximately 75 – 90 minutes. However trials will take up to 2 hours as I like to have enough time to discuss your requirements for your occasion.

HOW DO YOU ACCEPT PAYMENT?

I accept the remaining payment for all appointments on the day either via Bank Transfer, PayPal or cash.

CAN I BRING SOMEONE WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Yes, of course! My studio allows for an extra person to sit in during the appointment. Please bring along your own drinks if you feel you will need one while you are here. Unfortunately I cannot accommodate children in my Studio.

THERE IS NO AVAILABILITY LEFT ON THE DATE I WISH TO BOOK, DO YOU HAVE A CANCELLATION LIST?

Yes! Please send me an email to be added to my cancellation list for a particular date. On the occasion a client cancels their appointment, I will contact those who are on the cancellation list first before releasing the slot back onto my calendar.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY BRIDAL MAKEUP/PROM MAKEUP TRIAL?

CLICK HERE to read some helpful advice!

WHY DO I NEED A TRIAL?

CLICK HERE to read some forgotten reasons of the importance behind a makeup trial!

CAN I BOOK MORE THAN ONE BRIDAL TRIAL?

Of course! You can book as many trials as you like, however, any new trials are not included in the cost of your Bridal Makeup. Should you wish to book another, this will be separate charge of £65 (with a £20 deposit to secure the booking).

IF I’M NOT HAPPY WITH THE BRIDAL TRIAL, AM I COMMITTED TO BOOK?

No. You are only liable to pay for the trial. If you were not happy at the Bridal Trial and choose not to go forward with your booking, you will receive back the deposit minus the cost of the trial at £65. However, this is based on my discretion. If you cancel your Wedding booking with little notice, unfortunately your deposit will be forfeited.

CAN I BOOK A BRIDAL TRIAL WITHOUT PAYING THE DEPOSIT FIRST?

Unfortunately, not. I am quite busy, so I always ask for a deposit first to hold your wedding date in my diary before booking your trial.

CAN I BOOK A PROM TRIAL WITHOUT PAYING THE DEPOSIT FOR THE PROM DATE?

Yes. However the appointments for the Prom Date are on a first come, first serve basis. Your Prom Trial booking does not mean I have reserved a slot for you on the Prom Date.

WHY DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT FOR MY BOOKING?

Due to high demand I require a deposit to secure your booking. All deposits are non-refundable/non-transferrable. However, if your Special Occasion, Prom or Wedding Date must be changed or moved due to unforeseen circumstances (such as a global pandemic) I would be happy to discuss moving part of your deposit to your new date (subject to availability).

WHAT IF MY BRIDESMAIDS ARE NOT SURE IF THEY WANT A TRIAL?

Trials can be booked at any point, they can be scheduled for the same date as the bridal trial too, subject to availability. I recommend only one bridesmaid to have a trial to determine the style of makeup for the whole Bridal Party. However, it is completely up to you!

CAN MY BRIDAL PARTY PAY YOU SEPARATELY?

Brides typically collect payment from their wedding party for simplicity, but any bridal party members can pay separately. When paying separately, I ask them to add the wedding name (e.g., “**** Wedding”) in the reference so I know I have received a payment for the correct booking.

DO I PAY FOR YOUR TRAVEL?

Yes. I charge a small fee of 50p per mile. This is for the journey to and from your Wedding venue.

WHEN DO I PAY THE TOTAL COSTS FOR MY WEDDING MAKEUP?

Full payments are to be taken before the wedding date. I email my brides a final invoice including any remaining costs in the week of the wedding, the last thing you want to be worrying about on your special day is payment!

TERMS & CONDITIONS

MAKING YOUR BOOKING

All bookings, except Bridal Makeup, are to be made by clients through my APPOINTMENTS page.
As soon as you select a slot (date and time) this will be held for you to complete the deposit process, for 1 hour. If deposits have not been received after this time, it will be automatically released back onto my calendar.

Any appointments booked at 7:30 or earlier require an early morning fee, which increases the earlier you wish to book. Please visit my services page to view the prices for each appointment. These fees do not apply to Bridal Bookings, only to appointments based at my studio.

SECURING YOUR BOOKING AND DEPOSIT NOTICES

Special Occasion/Prom/Lesson/Additional Trial Appointments)

I require a non refundable/non transferrable deposit at the time of booking to secure the appointment. By paying this deposit you’re agreeing to my Terms and Conditions.
The appointment is only confirmed once I have received the deposit by PayPal or bank transfer. After requesting an appointment you will be forwarded to a payments page where you can pay via PayPal. Just in case you exit this page, or you wish to pay via bank transfer, account details are provided via the automatic email sent after requesting a time slot.

You will also be sent an email to let you know your appointment is in the process of being approved. While this can take a few hours, the booking won’t be released. Once your appointment is approved, you will be sent a confirmation email of your booking.

Bridal Bookings)

As it states in the Bridal Booklet, deposits are calculated after I have received the completed Booking Form. The Bridal deposit is non refundable/non transferrable. However, if a Wedding Date must be changed or moved due to unforeseen circumstances (such as a global pandemic) I would be happy to discuss moving part of the deposit to the new date (subject to availability).

Wedding dates are not secured without a deposit payment. Wedding dates cannot be held or reserved while awaiting deposit payments. Any date is available to be booked by potential other clients, at any time, via my online booking system.

CANCELLATIONS

All deposits for any of the services I provide are non-refundable if the booking is cancelled*.

Should you wish/need to move the booking to a new date, I will try my best to accommodate you. Please try to contact me with as much notice as possible. Due to my busy schedule, I may not have the availability for your preferred new date/time. As your original deposit secured the booking for your initial appointment, this deposit cannot be transferred to a new booking. However, if I am given enough notice (and I am available for your selected new date/time) deposits can be discussed. Unfortunately, if I am unavailable for the/any of the selected new date(s) or time(s), your deposit cannot be refunded.

I always try to be sympathetic to unavoidable cancellations! If you have any queries about cancelling/moving your booking, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

*For extreme circumstances, deposits can be discussed. For unforeseeable events such as a global pandemic, deposits can be moved to new dates or used as a credit to a new/moved appointment booking, but a full refund cannot be issued.

PAYMENT

The deposit payment will be deducted from the remaining costs.

For Bridal Makeup, the remaining costs need to be paid in the week running up to the wedding date, via bank transfer or PayPal. Remaining balance invoices cannot be paid in cash. For Bridal party payment, most Brides collect payment for simplicity, however bridal party members can pay separately. Bridal party payments must be paid the week of the wedding day.
I am unable to accept “on the day” bookings. If bridal party members have not been booked in advance, I cannot accommodate anyone extra. The products and equipment I bring to the venue are sufficient for the number of people booked prior, I do not bring anything extra.

Failure to pay the fee within the stated time may result in the wedding date being released. Failure to pay the remaining balance invoice prior to the Wedding Day means I cannot attend the booking.

Payments for other services (Occasion Makeup/Prom Makeup/Lessons/Additional Trials) can be made via bank transfer, PayPal or cash. If you do not have access to online/mobile banking, please notify me before the appointment.

TRAVEL EXPENSES

Travel is charged at 50p per mile, to and from your getting ready location.

Parking costs are chargeable to the client.

Travel is calculated upon receiving the completed Booking Form.

Wedding venues which are located 60 miles or more from my studio postcode, require an overnight stay before the wedding, to be provided by the client. I will notify you of the average rate for an overnight stay at a nearby hotel. The accommodation will be included in the remaining balance invoice and will be booked myself.

BRIDAL TRIAL

For Brides, the trial is normally 2 months before the wedding date and it will be located at my home studio. I will email you 2 months before your wedding day to discuss dates for your trial. I do not book Bridal Trials any earlier than 2 months before the wedding date.

Bridal Trials can be booked during the week, Monday to Friday (AM – PM), I can occasionally book a trial on a Sunday but it depends on my availability. Bridal Trials will be approximately 2 hours in duration.

If you were not happy at the Bridal Trial and choose not to go forward with your booking, you will receive back the deposit minus the cost of the trial at £65. However, this is based on my discretion. If you cancel your Wedding booking with me with little notice, unfortunately your deposit will be forfeited.

If a second makeup trial is requested or a bridal party member also wishes to have a trial, the same fee applies, as per the first trial (per person). A new deposit of £20 (per person) is also required to confirm the new trial date(s), this is deducted from the final cost owed on the day of the appointment(s).

OTHER MAKEUP TRIALS

For any other trial, I recommend 4-8 weeks before the event date and it will be located at my home studio.
